About The Artwork

Pug Daddy's started with a ongoing conversation about what should I paint. This is something that  everyone else in my surrounding knows better than I do. Although I often ask myself the same question. In the early stages my mother said; Why can't you paint kittens playing with a ball of yarn?. Later, the more mature crowd told me to paint landscapes, that would definitely sell, everyone likes pretty beach scenes. Two years ago nearly everyone with an opinion told me to paint abstract. But the best of all was the Pug, that Bryan my husband suggested me. We realised that there are serious crowds going mad for anything that has any relation to pugs. So I decided to paint one as a kind of novelty. I wanted to paint it like no one before. Pug Daddy is a waken dog. He is not sad, but accepting. His beed is designed as desired. Incapable to survive without humans. Breeding these dogs for their looks is rather inhumane. Messing with nature to create freaks? Original oil painting on stretched linen. Ready to hang.

Karolina was born in Hungary and moved to Australia in her early 20s. She has been creating artworks for as long as she can remember as it has always brought her a sense of calm and release. 9 times out of 10 she will choose oils over acrylics but lately, she has gotten into restoring old surfboards and finishing them off with sprays ranging from psychedelic outer space waves to sexy Japanese geishas. Airbrushing surfboards has been so much fun that she applied airbrush to make create portraits, landscapes and fantasy-visionary artworks . “There is no limit to creativity, only imagination” Karolina’s painting today is heavily influenced by textile, fashion and fibre art. Ornamental elements such as patterns, repeats, stitch-work, mixed media is present in many of her current works. She is a multi-talented artist with a variety of interests that keep her works unique, fresh and visionary. Her inspiration to create comes from an innate urge to experiment and constantly expand her vision. Learning new skills is essential in her process as she incorporates these skills to create the unusual, the authentic, the beautiful.
Karolina enjoys painting nudes, landscapes, portraits, animals, abstract on canvas, walls, surfboards, skateboards, basically anything and everything.  Her art knows no limit in themes, styles, techniques and expression. She loves creating and the process that comes with it.
