I moved to North East India after finishing my master degree and I started to work in plain air in the jungle few years back. The work outdoors is the opportunity to connect to the place and to reflect its authentic atmosphere. It is very fulfilling, adventurous and challenging experience. Though I came from very different country, the time spent by painting in the jungle is the time when boundaries dissolves, because it brings me back to the feelings from the childhood spent in White Carpathian hills of Slovakia. To paint this art work I went to Darrang near Bangladesh Boarder and stay there over a week to paint. To reach the place we had to go by boats. I am very grateful to visit this place and capture its atmosphere. After I work one full day on the canvas outdoor I had have it in studio for many months and during this long time of lock down I had feeling do work more on the details. The final art work has something from the wild nature and the ever changing atmosphere but also the long days of focusing and observing the canvas in my studio.

I am from Slovakia and in my work I find inspiration in the environment and culture of the place where I am working. Because of my interest to learn more about different cultures I studied one year in Basque country in northern Spain and I went for my master degree to study to India. My current works are focusing on visual memory and I am searching the fundamental forms in the wild nature. My first expeditions to the deep jungles in North East India were very exciting because I experienced first hand the feelings of the people who live in harmony with nature. Painting directly in the plain air in the rain forests is for me a reflection of organic biodiversity of nature and its ability to survive and grow in very difficult terrain. Humans have been inspired by nature for centuries, and I believe that till now we have subconscious connection to the natural forms and we are able to read the metaphors for the survival in or surrounding landscape.
