Acrylic on Heavy Stock Paper One of Five in a series inspired by the different flavours of Ice Cream. Painting has a half inch white border

Katie Carter, a British contemporary artist who moved from her family’s then home in 2011 from Akrotiri, Cyprus, to study Fine Art at the University of Derby. She has used various practices such as video, text, drawing and painting since finishing her studies and continues to work and develop her art. The work, often abstract, explores the idea of an everchanging world. Politics, Identity, Sexuality, Nature, Katie does not limit herself to any one subject so she can keep finding the excitement that keeps her working. ‘It’s a personal therapy to make Art. It’s a way to speak without using words, and a way to heal and revive the soul.’
