About The Artwork
This is a multi-panel work. It is made up of 7 pieces, each measuring 116 cm high and 27 cm wide by 4 cm deep. It is a composition based on lines, black dots and color fields in green and purple are two complementary colors, I was interested in composing a geometric landscape in vertical parts, the work can be mounted together or leave a small space between the panels. I tried different ways to compose the puzzle but the one I suggest is the most suitable for the composition. It is numbered on the reverse to follow the order from left to right. It's a visual divertissement in which I tried to integrate the line, the dot and the color shape. Annabel Andrews was born in the Isle of Wight in 1940 now lives and works in El Escorial near Madrid Spain, where the colour, light and volumes of the mountains inspire her work. As also her friendship with the late Spanish artists Pablo Palazuelo and Jose Guerrero. By preparing her own canvases with home made casein glue base and zinc white the work is light and luminous ready for applying acrylic colours.
