DOB : 8th July 1953 London British Richard comes from a long line of creativity. His father was an accomplished painter. He founded one of the world’s largest design firms and had a prominent career in advertising in postwar Britain. His mother was also a painter, and his grandparents were architects and artists. Art is in his blood and his soul. Richard Popitti began his career, like his father, in the world of advertising. But he left advertising for the world of finance in the early 70’s. Now, after years of looking at only red and black, he is exploding with a whole spectrum of happy colours mixed with words and numbers. He has come full circle. His process is simple: he sees a word, hears a word, and from there his imagination begins. He expresses how he sees and hears that word by letting his ideas follow and flow.
