Quantum Field Painting

This painting is one from a series called 'Quantum Healing'. The initial inspiration for this body of work was that I wanted to use faces of people who inspire me, in an abstract painting, in a way that keeps the feel of the abstract rather than it becoming a 'portrait'. In this painting I had been inspired by a Deepak Chopra meditation I had been doing. He is a motivational speaker and doctor. He wrote the book Quantum Healing in the 1980's. it was one of the first books I read about this stuff, he was very influential in my work as a healer and in my thinking. I obscured the face as much as possible, you can still see the brow and nose, and hand. I wanted a feeling of outer and inner space reflecting the same thing. I was seeing the face as just one of many layers and wanted the feel of collage with the blocks of colour. I have painted the wrap around edges so there is no need for a frame.
