About The Artwork

In Amogh's words: "This work is inspired by women empowerment. My son asked me which one is the post powerful piece in chess and without much thinking I said 'King'. And he said it should be Queen. I suddenly realized my mistake that King can be important but the queen is most powerful in chess. Chess represent women empowerment perfectly." The painting is on gallery wrapped canvas and ready to hang. Amogh Katyayan is an established artist from Canada whose paintings hang in several homes all over the world.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My painting technique can be compared to the looking for images in the clouds. I begin with a blank canvas and as I layer on the initial coat of paint to create textures and colours, I start to see shapes and figures emerge from the paint. This is the foundation from which my paintings develop. With the freedom open-minded approach brings, my painting takes on a life of its own. From the images I initially see, my paintings take on stories, issues, and experiences to which others can relate. I encourage to read the story behind or developed with the work. When you look into my work, you will see the story falling into place. With this work you can also create your own story! I am currently working on “Common Man” series. The main subject in each piece ,“Our Hero”, depicts the daily life of a person in different scenarios. Some of the paintings represent everyday tasks like running or dog walking. Others show the more adventurous side such as his “Cliffhanger” or “Ropewalker” pieces, while others show the challenges and pressures in as seen in his “Rising Corporate Ladder” painting.
