Quicksilver or the democracy kid Painting

The work is an interpretation of the historical and contemporary relationship of the world's major capitalist democracy to the so-called Third World in particular, Africa and the Caribbean. In fact to those areas of the world in which Black people predominate which includes within America itself. It is also a specific response to the foreign policy of George W. Bush during whose reign it was created. The process involves scraping or etching into the painted surface. The removal of the paint is the way in which the image is formed. It is a kind of reverse drawing.
