About The Artwork
This landscape has a particular place in my heart as it was produced during the first ever Sky Landscape Artist of the Year heat in Trellisick, Cornwell in 2015. I was a Wild Card artist and had such a brilliant day. The rain came down but everyone was so happy. Trellisick gardens are full of beautiful plants, many from all around the world giving it quite a Mediterranean or Caribbean feel. The gardens overlook the Fowey estuary. Such great memories of a beautiful place. The work is named after the gorgeous Frank Skinner (...as well as Frank Turner and Frank Iero)

Over time I have noticed that regardless of imagery, my work naturally holds feelings of melancholy, pathos, or a dreamy state. There is a sense of something ending or softening, a dying light, the end of a summers day or something slipping out of reach. I have an interest in finding imagery through a random, sometimes destructive process. I search for hints and suggestions which emerge through this often playful technique. Winner of Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year (2018).
