ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This large, minimal golden disk was painted using Paleochrome Gold, a rare and lustrous pigment normally used for guilding British first class stamps and is bound in Ormeline. It sits on a finely sanded, gradated (darker toward the edges) burnt Sienna gesso bole, on 10mm board. The surround is many layers of Acryic in a creamy/grey white colour (not as grey as it looks in the main picture), and the board is mounted on a sunken, wooden frame to give the appearence of 'floating' a few centimetres off the wall.
