ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The picture depicts "bokorashi" rafting the forest on the river Cheremosh. In ancient times, the trunks of trees cut down and cleared of branches were tied into rafts, which, in turn, were connected to each other in a kind of, sometimes quite long, rope. Rafting wood is a very dangerous profession, a kind of "Hutsul rafting". The red color of autumn leaves of beech trees harmonizes with the turquoise color of the mountain river, and at the same time creates the phenomenon of contrast of the autumn atmosphere. In the background - a stone rock, which with its static location in the picture is a counterweight to the dynamic flow of the mountain river.
