Hello, I’m Kennen Spivey a 10th generation metal smith and craftsmen. I own a business called Fire and brimstone forge where I educate aspiring artist and create most of my work utilizing lost arts, old world crafts, and trades passed down through generations. I typically create works in hand Forged Metal, Leather, Wood, Stained Glass, and Stone. Having worked several years as a professional Jeweler and designer, I also hand engrave and make jewelry, cutting my own stones through lapidary. I am an extremely active member in the art and craft community being a member of the Forge Council, Art Guild, Leather Guild, and former Vice President of the Central Alabama Artist Guild. One of my first jobs was working for LEGO, then for a jewelry company named James Avery. I took on these jobs to enhance my skill and knowledge of design and crafting. Upon my graduation from my second masters I was immediately hired by scad and was a metals professor shortly before being hired by Disney’s Marvel franchise to make various and extremely recognized props for the Avengers movies. Here I worked with the best of the best artist and craftsman from around the world! I later went independent though I still work in the entertainment industry I now teach classes, take on private commissions and run a educational center for the arts which provides space for artist and craftsman looking to get a foothold within the art and entertainment industry. Most of my work consist of swords, armor, knives, and whimsical artifacts that usally have a mechanical or kinetic aspect. However, Every now and then I will create a piece that falls into a completely different category, like conceptual work, painting, or architectural drawings.
