I'm an abstract self-taught artist based in Lisbon, Portugal. I’m a retired Portuguese Air Force Officer and my passion for painting started in an unexpected way back in 2004, when my daughter challenged me to paint a canvas…a canvas that would be the first of many. If I had to describe myself, while passionate about painting, I wouldn’t know how to do it…I’d say I’m just a curious, an eternal apprentice, who seeks unceasingly abstract forms to represent life, to perpetuate feelings and emotions. My spontaneously and unconventional style using acrylics, several mixed media, tools as palette knives, sponges and my own hands, allow me to build unique textures and layers into each painting.
