Ranger / Black Witcher Painting

The black rider was supposed to be a Witcher - hero of Polish fantasy book series, worldwide known thanks to popularity of PC game. While sketching it came clear however, that colour palette should be limited as possible, and so instead of white hair raider is all black and can not be Witcher Gerald anymore. Hopefully atmosphere of this fantasy tale is still there; and I've heard from some friends they associate the raider also with Aragorn of Lord of The Rings. Big size painting with schlagmetal-made gold & silver, abstract background and limited colour palette makes big impact while faced in person, as the size matters in this case. Additionally schlagmetal-made golden sand and silver sea changes mood of the painting according to lighting facilities. Beside schlagmetal, only black oil with strokes of navy blue is used and plywood background is visible as a visible body parts of the raider, and so wood pattern adds a rouge look to his face. Painting is mixed media (oil + schlagmetal + glossy varnish) on plywood and wooden canvas. Plywood and wood are visible on the side. Open form and visible structure is a part of design. Small technical flaws are welcome in my works, as matherial perfection I leave to manufacturing. I built canvas myself from the scratch and so it is not perfect and at closer look you can see joints and nail's heads, as well and as uneven surface and sometimes gaps in schlagmetal leaves. It does not disturb the harmony of the whole object however, and I see it as a additional value of my personal touch.
