About The Artwork

This painting is one of a series of works dedicated to the life of the forest. In this particular painting, a birch chair can be perceived as clumsy furniture that remains in the forest after foresters and hunters. And it can also be understood as an unknown transition from natural tree forms to things that are familiar and necessary for human life. The result of a random unexplained phenomenon. The same can be said about the rest of the characters and objects in the painting. Duality and ambiguity is exactly what I am trying to convey in this series and many of my other works.

I work mainly in the technique of figurative expressive painting. I develop several directions in my work. All of them can be united by one theme: the place of the human in nature. I would like to clarify that I also mean the nature of the human himself, or rather the fact that he himself is also no less natural in essence than a tree or a fish. Changes in his physical or mental essence are often caused precisely by a change in his natural, genetic, basis. I have been working in medicine as a scientist for several years, so my impressions here are primary and immediate. I often reflect my impressions of real human developmental specis, conditions and even disorders, but the purpose of my work is not to portray diseases or disorders, but just some of my reflections on the topic of nature in the human. Therefore, in addition to human images in my painting, I often use images associated with personal memories and experiences, especially with regard to the setting and objects. I work in the main oil and watercolor paints. I like to do multipanel work to express a sequence of thoughts or ideas.
