ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Caroline Weber is a Swiss fulltime Artist, living and painting in middle of Switzerland. This work is a part of the RAW COLLECTION released at the end of January 2021. That artwork deals with connections related to the human condition. What it means to have a clear path, how it feels to leave that path and discover the surroundings. The material is a cotton canvas on a wooden canvas frame stretcher. You can frame it, but it is not neccessary. It is ready to hang onto your wall. For an additional $290 I could make a handmade custom floating frame for you. "I am only useing very high quality material and paintcolors. So you can be proud of owning such a Swiss made painting, made with passion, creativity and high quality craftmenship." PLEASE NOTE - All works are sprayed with museum quality archival fixative and sent with a signed Certificate of Authenticity and hand written thank you note. The artwork is signed and dated on the backside. Enjoy your new painting from Switzerland!

Caroline Weber (1974) from Atelier Weber is a self-taught full-time artist. She lives and works in rural Schwyz in Switzerland. In her newest works, Weber uses raw canvas. Kneeling or standing over the large blank pieces, she pours out the paint directly onto the fabric. Weber plays with pictorial depth by building up veil-like layers of colour that coalesce into amorphous forms. Soft washes with wispy, feathery edges are paired alongside round and oblong forms, some of which have been dripped and splattered with a lively immediacy, while others have been gently pooled, displaying a rounded and meandering edge. The amount of control she exerts over the delineation of these forms is staggering, especially in the contours and outlines of the shapes, and in their joining of neighboring forms. Weber manages a great degree of three-dimensionality in her work. Certain areas create a powerful sense of recessional depth and perspectival space. ARTIST STATEMENT My intention is to capture moments of transience. I draw inspiration from nature and its phenomena. For example when wafts of mist pass through valleys. It looks different every minute. What interests me is how it ultimately works on the canvas. Her work has been published in magazines, newspapers and catalogues. She corporates with international brands like Bombay Sapphire Gin or Visa Cornercard and is a semi-final winner of Artbox Project Barcelona 1.0. In 2021 she got the Certificate of Merit, Luxembourg Art Prize, organized by the Pinacothèque, a private museum located in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Another work can be found in a private museum near Athen in Greece. In her region she is a star. She participated in solo and group exhibitions. Her work can be found in a museum, in corporate premises as well as in private collections all over the world.
