Raw Emotion in Solitude Painting

Living and working as a designer in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, Lisa Lockett made the transition to fine arts painting with great interest in portraitures, figurative art, and abstracts. Lisa began drawing at the age of five when asked by a visiting teacher, at her grandmother's house, if she could draw his arm. To no avail, art would become Lisa's passion today. Lisa’s unique drawing style is classical with a twist of free-form modern play. Her paintings capture deep moods and feelings and often revolve around painting lines of the human form. As an emotional painter or an expressionist, she turns away from the typical stereotypes to paint the subconscious. The artist follows her creative intuition while maintaining order in a pictorial sense. “I am always looking out for nuances in facial expression or movement to capture in my portraits and abstracts. My style is ever evolving but borders on realism and expressionism.“ Lisa’s artworks are unique in composition as she alternates between tradition and the eclectic, a combination that beholds the mysterious.
