“Rebellion is Generosity” Painting

Please don't let the name hold you back from your own interpretation of this. At the time of this painting I was listening to a lot of Neil Young and reading Richard Wagamese. In one particular part of the book Richard references Saul Alinsky and his book “Rules for Radicals”. I was inclined to name this piece based off of some of the conversation in Richard’s book. Being radical doesn’t mean that we have to be charged and smash things. Although there is also a time and place for that. There was a line that stuck out to me “Invoke justice in the system through a certain generosity of spirit”. I wanted to embrace that thought and think about that more. I hope you enjoy. D
