ABOUT THE ARTWORK
What inspired my work was recovery. I am an individual in recovery. I began painting abstract and pouring pieces during my residential stay. I once had an embroidery business for 4 years, so being creative has been a part of me all my life. I am hoping viewers will see my work and understand the love, strength and pain behind each piece. I've tried working with watercolors, oils, inks and charcoal, however acrylic has always helped me express myself a little more. I love painting animalistic themes, forests, ocean scenes and abstract pouring. I pray that viewers accept and understand my way of expressing.

As a person in recovery, I have a lot of inner pain. However, once my soul was cleansed, I utilized my strength to push through my pain. My work symbolizes that. I have been on the high end of life, meaning running my own business in embroidery and doing well. I have also been on the low end, meaning struggling to eat and being homeless with my 5 year old autistic son. You never a persons pain when they keep a constant smile. Art can produce the true inner feelings of an individual and that's what I love most about it.
