Erika Rachel (USA b.1984) Erika Rachel is self taught and best known for her abstract paintings, but has worked in mediums such as screen printing, collage, and photography. Her work has exhibited at the Guild Hall Museum (East Hampton, NY), Ashawagh Hall (East Hampton, NY), Paul Labrecque (UES, NYC), Dop Dop (Soho, NYC), Art Expo (Pier 94, NYC), Artworks (Trenton, NJ), Hunterdon Art Museum (Clinton NJ), Hopewell Valley Vineyards (Pennington NJ), Prallsville Mills (Stockton, NJ), The Mansion Inn (New Hope PA), Tag Heuer Boutique (King of Prussia PA), and annually at The “A” Space Gallery (New Hope, PA). Erika was invited to speak at WIP (NYC) as a part of their visual artist panel about the origin and progress of her Compatibility Series. Collectors Lawrence Benenson (MoMa Board of Trustees), Cyma Zarghami (President Viacom Kids and Family Group), and Paul Labrecque (Founder Paul Labrecque Salon & Spas) all have Erika’s work in their private collections. As part of her professional practice she belongs to many organizations and supports the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Guild Hall Museum and the Springs Improvement Society of East Hampton NY. Her work has been in benefit auctions for various charities as well as part of a funding effort to build an arts center and theater for the community of Greensboro NC. In an effort to show others the therapeutic power of abstract art, Erika regularly leads group workshops, showing people a way to process thoughts and emotions into expressive color and form on canvas. She’s contributed to many local community projects and events such as her hometown’s “Milford Alive”, Princeton's public installation "Dohm Alley", NewHope and Lambertville’s public art exhibition “Outside the White Cube”, Frenchtown's Riverfest, as the visiting artist for her former high school's regional art fair, and as a member of the Frenchtown Creative Team. Erikahas painted in public as the resident artist for Sourland Coffee in Hopewell NJ, and during her live demonstrations at the Tag Heuer Boutique in King of Prussia PA, as well as Industry Night at the chic Chef's Club by Food & Wine, New York NY. Her studio and residence are located in Milford NJ, a humble rivertown along the Delaware.
