About The Artwork
I created this work on a canvas covered board for a weekly assignment by Dutch tv show ‘Project Rembrandt’. The assignment was to make a painting of a grapevine in acrylics using pointillism. You were only allowed to use the primary colors red, blue and yellow, and white. I love participating in challenges like this because they take me out of my comfort zone. I never really use acrylics because oils just suit me better. I had also only once before tried the pointillism technique and never paint in just the primary colors. So those are 3 comfort zones I stepped out of! The artwork has received a layer of varnish.
