Born in Barcelona, Spain (October 25, 1931) Cabada took interest in art from a young age. Upon turning 18, Cabada followed his passion to Peru, where he studied at National School of Fine Arts in Lima. Cabada went on to spend the next decade honing his craft at various art exhibits in Brazil, Germany and France before finalizing his studies at the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, D.C. Following his relocation to Washington, D.C in the late 60s, Cabada began displaying his work at solo exhibitions in Paris, France, Bangkok, Thailand and New York City. As a result of his success, Cabada and his wife Consuelo opened the Aaron Gallery in 1974, an establishment that operated in Dupont Circle for the next 35 years. During this time Cabada experimented with various styles of abstract-expressionism, liberally transitioning from figurative to abstract work at any given time. After establishing himself as a prominent painter D.C artist, Cabada was able to display his pieces in a plethora of esteemed exhibits. Specifically in the last decade, Cabada’s work was exhibited in the John F. Kennedy Center of Performing Arts, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Detroit Institute of Art and National Portrait Gallery, as well as prestigious universities such as Harvard and Georgetown.
