About The Artwork

Lemurs, our close cousins, along with most other large mammals, have been poached and hunted to the brink of extinction. There are at this point about 590 Red-Ruffed Lemurs remaining in the wild. The painting shown here is a limited edition canvas print (Giclee) of the original artwork. As an avid nature addict and globetrotter, I regularly visit far-flung destinations in search of endangered wildlife, and document these in my photographs to be later used to create original artwork. These lemurs are among some of the most critically endangered ones I had encountered during my trip to Africa in 2017. I’ve tried here to convey their haplessness in the eyes of this lemur. I’ve left the background black, symbolic to what might portend these majestic primates. In reality, most of what I paint are animals whose demise has crossed a tipping point: indeed, some of them might not even survive as a species in the time it takes for my work to be hung on a gallery wall. Many others remain, and these are exotic, playful, quirky, but all infinitely precious, and have no less right to live on this planet than any one of us. We owe it to the children of the future – both theirs and ours – to ensure that they survive… and thrive well. It's worth noting that in an effort to do my part in conservation, I donate about 10% of the profits on the sale of my wildlife artwork to non-profit charities, such as the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). So, thanks for visiting - you've truly made a difference!!!

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

As artists, photographers, and globetrotters who roam the planet in search of rare, endangered wildlife, vanishing cultures, and far-flung natural wonders, the Sarker family, as GeoBeetles, aims to become Earth’s first traveling family to explore all 196 countries and to inspire others to save our world by combating the climate crisis and the sixth mass extinction. We also concentrate heavily on art, especially paintings of endangered animals which we had photographed before. As a means to increase awareness and community action, we hold several art walks and art exhibitions throughout the year, where artwork of various media are displayed and sold. A percentage of the profits generated from these sales get donated to some of the leasing nature and animal conservation organizations around the world.
