Since January 2017 artist Lori Fox has been living on the road, making her studio wherever inspiration was found. She spent time in Marfa, Texas exploring the concepts of light while being able to go behind the scenes at the McDonald Observatory to talk with researchers and drive the 3rd largest telescope on earth. She did further research and made studios in New York, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Spain, and France before arriving to us for the show. In Source & Reflection, Lori blends highly structured and free-form worlds together to uncover the nature of light-source-sun and shadow-reflection-moon. Further exploration goes into the human eye’s ability to perceive objects within a limited scope of light. Spiritual energy and personal themes are infused in the work but do not dominate the landscape, allowing the viewer to find meaning in each piece based on their own experiences. In this moon cycle series, there are 3 left: Waning Crescent symbolizing "Recuperate", Last Quarter meaning "Release" and Waning Gibbous for "Gratitude". These were painted in San Diego, CA
