ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Chrysanthemum represents strength and resilience in ancient Chinese culture. During Sydney’s long lockdown, I started to paint still life when we were confined into our temporary accommodation - a small 2 bedroom apartment in a high rise building. It is also partly imaginative. I saw the beautiful full moon in the clear sky and incorporated it into the image.

I believe art has healing power and I want to create beauty through my art. I draw inspiration from what I see in real life and the ancient oriental spirituality. My current theme is exotic flower in an abstract surreal setting. To me, flowers represent the ultimate fragile beauty and shear determination in life. Through their immediate presence I can see the eternal existence, however short their blossom last.
