Painter/ Illustrator Renee Dumont is a leading contemporary artist in Massachusetts. Since the 1980's Dumont has studied the history and rhythm of landscapes, wildlife, portraiture and the human figure.. After achieving a degree in fine art, Renee worked under the direction of renown artist William C. Perry in the state of Rhode Island for 14 yrs. During that time Renee worked on projects, painting murals and custom paintings for restaurants and was also involved in working on projects for the U.S. Government. Renee developed an interest in painting portraits in the early 90's when she decided to teach herself. Mr. Perry's professional critique and mentorship helped to guide her as she grew professionally with commissioned work by both private and public collectors. Renee has participated in numerous group shows around the eastern part of the U.S. and had several one man shows since embarking on her career. She has participated in many fundraiser's over the years to support the community and is a dedicated Rotarian. Renee has been commissioned for many types of paintings ranging from portraits, historic landscapes, to narrative illustrations. Much of Renee's inspiration for her paintings come from growing up on a lake, to studying and exploring the river banks of Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor. Whether it's examining remote stretches of the lakes and rivers, investigating city streets, or watching bald eagles up in the trees while kayaking, she is constantly on the lookout for good reference material and new ideas to put on canvas. "Paintings that feed the soul"... Painting portraits in Oil that reflects ones hope and passion for life.
