'REPAROS' (2024), a work measuring 66x86cm, delves into the journey of forgiveness and renewal. Created with a mixture of acrylic, watercolor, ballpoint pen and markers, each stroke tells the story of reconstruction. I forgave my mistakes And all the vices I erased I turned them into useful scraps Meters and meters of what was bad for me Patches were necessary To disguise so many wrinkles I insisted on the whim of invisible seams From the inside out I made a fresh start I sewed repairs night after night But despite the forgiven mistakes The vices disguised by the proofreader I know that the frayed can reappear From the sewn wrong Rags, tatters and lint Are still there In the soul wounded by my own looms That I didn't know how to use.

Rubia Viegas was born in Santos (Sao Paulo - Brazil) and has lived in Presidente Prudente (Sao Paulo - Brazil) for over 40 years. His artistic development took place in a natural way. Considered self-taught, she took only a short course in watercolor and studied the lives and works of various artists on her own initiative. Most of his productions are made with watercolor and ink on canvas. According to the artist, the “scribble” has always been in her life. Rubia started creating on paper, using crayons, pastel chalk and charcoal. Then it went to acrylic paint and oil. “I decided to broaden my horizons. I took the screen in search of satisfying my needs for expression. I am spacious. So, I mixed the techniques: I arrived in watercolor and ink on canvas. It is how I express myself” explains the artist. Rubia has as her inspiration nature as sovereign - mainly the element that moves her the most, the sea - and the children's imagination. “These canvases color my heart, amuse my mind. Representative images of the little players inside me” says Rubia.
