About The Artwork
Resplendent quetzals are threatened in the wild due to habitat loss and fragmentation. They have rich cultural significance as they were sacred to the Aztecs and Mayans and today they're the central image of the Guatemalan flag. I find them magnificently beautiful and fascinating and I pray for the survival of their species. I hope my artwork inspires you to learn more about them too.
