Revoluction Painting

Painting in oils,my life´s passion, began at ten years old with that first oil painting. After years of experimenting with colour and composition, "Impression Realism" developed from the search to find meaning in life. Motif began to be become the creative factor. The wish to share that special moment everyone has when reality breaks through outer shells and we live a moment of realization. Those moments when the surroundings, not only the views but also the air, the sounds and feelings are recorded deep inside to leave a lasting memory. As the moment deepens, focus recalls more than what can be seen and a composite experience appears which then translates itself into composition, often lending itself to memories associated through life and then motif develops. Motif becomes the challenge to "say" something through images which can deepen vision and touch the essential in us all...without preconceived ideas draining the moment of life... and living the fresh vision of a painting. Painting in oils is also a challenge as their translucent quality enables a depth to appear but this requires successive layers of oils to be applied not only for this depth but also for the surface itself to come to life by the reflection of light off raised dots of paint. This light has the added quality of changing as surrounding light changes and a painting breathes. The actual work time for each painting is elevated and results in a low production Today the time dedicated to complete a painting stretches over years as several coats are needed. The photographs do not do justice to the detail or to the colour but that is a problem encountered not only by myself but by professionals also. A photograph is not a painting. I can only hope that this new painting will be enjoyed!
