About The Artwork
The dramatic opposites of black and white meet halfway through grey in a painting inspired by ice melting. With its flickers of gold this is a bold, unusual combination of striking linear and eye-catching organic patterns. This artwork is made from a variety of different paintings removed from their backing and then cut, fragmented, and collaged onto the surface of the glossy black painted canvas. This work has two sets of D rings and wire for your choice of vertical or horizontal hanging. On the back you will find my signature, initials, title and year. It is registered on the NRAA (National Registry for Australian artists) .The work comes with details of the registration and a Certificate of Authenticity.

Artist Statement “When the paint is dry my work is just beginning”. The thought that paint could be capable of independence from the canvas has been the driving force behind Julee’s art practice. It led to her process of creating paintings on plastic waiting for the paint to dry before she removes it. The unsupported material has an inherent flexibility that allows Julee to investigate her interest in textile, collage, and sculptural techniques. Through cutting, layering, moulding, weaving, and gluing, each creation is the result of many hours of meticulous and detailed work. An artist since childhood, Julee holds a BFA (Sculpture and Painting) from Curtin University, Perth. She is also the author of the book Sculptural Secrets for Mosaic (Schiffer Publishing Ltd, USA). Her works can be found in collections, both public and private, worldwide.
