ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Work carried out mainly with a spatula and shown in a personal exhibition in Sesto Calende (Italy) in April 2018 (paint included in the catalog). This paint was also exhibited in Canegrate (Italy) at the Visconteo's Castle. In this canvas I wanted to turn reality into a dream by using colors, lights and three-dimensionally dark for an enveloping effect. The painting is shipped packed with two compressed wood panels and bubble wrap with adhesive tape to prevent damage.

Gianluigi Casiraghi was born in 1953 in Gallarate (Italy). He approached painting as self-taught at the beginning of the 70s, studying the artists Carlo Carrà and Mario Sironi. The first works are executed in oil on canvas or with enamels on glass. The pictorial activity was interrupted during the university period and later with the work commitment in Milan. In the 2012/2013 period, he expressed interest in optical art and pop art, and later he started to make modern figurative works that were sometimes informal, with prevalent use of acrylic colors. His ongoing research concerns the language of color, light and dark, movement, depth and three-dimensionality. He is a member of the 3° (Alfa Artist Association) of Gallarate with whom he participated in various initiatives including exhibitions at the municipality of Gallarate, at the historic San Pietro church in Gallarate. He participated in the reproduction of the painting "Justice" by Luigi Cavenago included in the renovation project of the Gallarate's church. To his credit numerous personal and collective exhibitions of which among the most recent in Arona (Italy) in July 2017 (inaugurated by the mayor Doct. Gusmeroli with the presence of teacher Sgarbi), and in October / November in Legnano (Italy) at the cultural center San Magno (with the presentation of Doct. Marta Ferina expert in visual arts and Doct. Franco Colombo councilor for culture). Always in Legnano in 2018 he exhibited with his friend Massimo Massarelli.
