About The Artwork

What/who inspired the work? Conceptually, I was inspired by a photograph in which the Fluxus artist Robert Filliou (Sauve, France, 1926 - Les Eyzies, France, 1987) is wearing his "Galerie légitime" (1962): an itinerant art gallery created in a folded paper hat during the exhibition "Defrosting the frozen exhibition" held in the Misfits festival, London, 1962. Formally -in terms of shapes, color and fragmented perspectives- I was inspired by David Hockney (born July 9, 1937), an English painter, draftsman, printmaker, set designer and photographer and who is a major contributor to the pop art movement of the 1960s. Hockney is considered one of the most influential British artists of the 20th century.

His works are part of several collections worldwide, and he has focused on investigating the concept of museums created by artists, drawing inspiration from precedents such as Marcel Duchamp's La Boîte-en-Valise, Robert Filliou's Galerie légitime, and Marcel Broodthaers' Musée d'Art Moderne, Département des Aigles.
