"The Paintings Section of the Davis Museum" is divided into portraits of Marcel Duchamp, Robert Filliou, and Marcel Broodthaers, and still lifes of the Boîte-en-valise, La galerie légitime, and Musée d'Art Moderne, Département des Aigles. For this painting, Lisboa drew conceptual inspiration from a frame of Robert Filliou's video titled "Teaching and Learning as Performing Arts, Part 2," and formal inspiration from the paintings of Brazilian artist Candido Portinari.
