About The Artwork

The artist's starting point was a black and white photograph of Robert Filliou wearing his artwork "Galerie légitime" (1962), a mobile art gallery made from a folded paper hat during the "Defrosting the Frozen Exhibition" in London, 1962. Drawing inspiration from Picasso's cubist paintings, the artist used AI for an initial study, transforming the photo into a digital cubist image and transferring it to oil on canvas with added textures. The narrative explores artists creating their museums, leading to the creation of the Davis Museum in Barcelona. This miniature contemporary art museum, symbolically formed in an electoral ballot box, is recognized by the Generalitat de Catalunya. The museum comprises sections, including portraits and still lifes.
