Born in the UK, raised in the Netherlands, Kalpa studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Groningen, a city in the North of Holland. During her education she preferred to work with ink and watercolours in a direct and spontaneous way. Her paintings are represented in private and public collections in the Netherlands and abroad. Since 2011 she is a member of the ICCPS, the international Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Society.
