About The Artwork

This is Ruby Gold, the tragic female lead in the so far unpublished novel 'The Separatist'. She is a dope seller who falls in passion with The Mister, a Harvard professor who walks away from his wife and research to be amongst frogs in Rayne, Louisiana, self-proclaimed 'Frog Capital Of The World'. She is the most classically beautiful woman he has ever seen, but unfortunately he's also a sociopath, and breaks her heart. This portrait displays Ruby Gold in the last days of her life; still beautiful, but just about done, aged beyond her years.

I have been painting and selling original art for some years now, and am pleased to say my bright colours and bold images are on walls from Bangkok to Palma, from Los Angeles to London. I have had them described as "romantic", and "outrageous", "˜eye-catching" and "utter shit". I accept all such comments with great enjoyment, but have unerringly failed to compile a satisfying description myself. All I can say for sure, it's not wallpaper. People notice it. They don't always like it, but hell, I don't paint for applause. Onward, ever onward!
