This furious beast features mixed media gestural abstraction, hand-scraped line work - literally cut through the paint and into the support, revealing the natural pigment of the board - and a geometric structure, creating a sense of deep power and a kind of primal vitality. The use of red and black further grounds the work in the deepest, most animalistic, parts of our psyche, while the lifting, curving white and blue reminds us of the higher angels of our nature.
