This work of art depicts a seated woman with a contemplative, majestic air. The canvas is dominated by a rich palette of black and red, lending penetrating depth and intensity to the image. The background of the painting is adorned with a repeating baroque motif in vibrant red, creating a striking contrast with the surrounding dark shades and adding a rich visual texture to the scene. The woman, placed at the center of the composition, is dressed in a sumptuous, elaborate gown, dotted with red motifs that blend seamlessly with the background, almost as if emerging from the decorative motifs themselves. Her knotted hair adds a touch of refinement to her look. The way the light caresses her face and the folds of her dress highlight the artist's masterful technical skills, underlining every detail with precision. What makes this work particularly unique is the harmonious integration of the motifs and the main subject. The artist succeeds in creating a visual symbiosis where the central figure and the ornamental background seem to interact, forming a seamless, captivating whole. This is not simply a portrait, but an exploration of the beauty, mystery and power conveyed by the female figure symbolized here. The intensity of the colors, coupled with the woman's serene yet strong posture, evokes feelings of inner strength and resilience. It's a bold and fascinating artistic statement that captures the viewer's attention and imagination, inviting them to plunge into this visually rich and moving universe.

Born in Courrières in the North of France, I share my time between the North of France and Paris which inspires me many urban scenes including café terraces. I have always used oil paint because slow drying suits my technique better. I work in series by inspiring my surrounding, places I go to, objects I own and stage. In the series "Réflexions sur le temps qui passe", I treat the cars and Vespa in the manner of the "vanities" of the past by perforating the bodies, rusting them, thus translating the time that passes and which reduces to few things once prestigious vehicles. The parallel is obvious with our own existence. In the still lifes séries, I stage objects with a preference for metal and glass and using a palette of coloured grey and nuanced white so as to have a contemporary touch. In the series "Mes petites Nanas", I interpret scenes, situations, by putting in scene my daughter who is used to me as model (The comedy of the feelings, or the works on the small girls). Finally, the urban landscapes are inspired, as I said earlier, by my numerous stays in Paris where I live part of the year.
