SCARABEUS II Painting

"Creativity is like breathing. Once you take a breath, you can't stop." I have always seen painting and drawing as a part of me. I have always been interested in philosophy, mysticism, natural cycles and principles of the human psyche. Painting and art have been a way for me to touch these topics in deepness. Art is a way how to be authentic, to search for inner peace, a deeper primal essence and something higher that transcends us. For years my artistic work has been about drawing and illustrations for children and adults. The colourful illustrations drawn with crayons were like limitless worlds of fantasy, hidden stories, fun and sometimes a bit of hidden mysticism. One day I needed to leave a drawn boundaries and spread more wings. Many last years I have been using acrylic paintings which allow me to better express in abstract word. "Abstraction allows me to achieve more freedom where the limits are usually just a time and a size of the canvas." In some of my paintings, call them LINES, I touch on a slightly meditative view of the world. We don't achieve inner peace through thoughts and overthinking. With seemingly simple paintings in which there is nothing to understand, I want to allow paintings let affect people, and to be given the opportunity to have their own experience and perception of the painting. In my WAVES paintings I study and depict the theme of the inner processes in humans, the play of our shadows and lights, the complex stories within us, etc., There is a space where everything is constantly changing and evolving, also maybe healing. I believe in inner power of human and intuition. In EMOTIONS series I like to invite the viewers not to analyse these works, but to remain observers and feel how the paintings themselves affect them. What emotions and feelings do the paintings cause in the body? Not what we "think" about it, but how do we feel? "Abstract painting cannot be understood, it must be perceived." Your Elizabeth
