Flush against a wall is likely to look best. Bespoke canvas stretcher, with double sized and triple primed superior linen canvas and painted with professional grade oil paint. The surface of the painted canvas is fairly smooth and some brush marks remain visible to add to the subtle movement in the water. I have painted water for many years and always see something new every time. The warm tones of the underwater sand contrast with the reflections of the sky. Painted as pure observation of shallow water and intended to really offer a calming influence.

I have long been fascinated with painting water and nudes in water. I find the reflective properties, the movement and the distorting qualities of water provide me with a wealth of challenges. I find that although my aim is always to produce a high degree of realism in my paintings I am constantly using sequences of abstract shapes to achieve an effect. With superb and interesting techniques he infuses a harmony between natural realism and the painted surface creating subtle yet dramatic imagery.
