ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Creating an abstract work from intuition and feeling by using coincidental and deliberate mark making is cathartic and therapeutic. Making layers with paint, graphite and scratching back into the paint quickly brings many surprises. I hope that it evokes calm and gentleness for the viewer, a necessity amongst the madness in our often disturbing world. I enjoy using acrylic as it dries so quickly allowing me to paint many layers spontaneously and quickly.
