In this painting I tried to create a sense of calm with the blues and greys. A lot of mindful sounds are associated with falling water and many relaxation recordings are the sound of waterfalls. The blended lines of blue white and grey symbolise the falling water and the textured white below represents the crashing water. The paint at the bottom of the canvas is more defined to emphasise the haziness in the middle. This haziness is to show the water vapour that is rising off the waterfall.

Daisy Clayton is a 27-year-old, largely self taught, contemporary artist from Oxfordshire, England. Before pursuing her art professionally in 2019, she graduated from Queen Mary University London with a Masters Degree in psychology. Using her background in psychology, she built upon her previous skills as a painter by focusing her interest on how a painting can make someone feel and the emotions it may evoke. She paints with acrylics to depict a balance of calming tones and contrasting colours. Generally interpreting significant places, she uses texture and gold leaf to create depth, capturing the viewer by inducing memories, emotions and unique interpretation. One of her recent inspirations came from being in London which led to a painting series as she aimed to capture the fast pace of the city. Following this series, she was commissioned to paint four 100cmx100cm paintings of iconic London views for a head office in London Docklands (Madison Brook International) which she completed earlier this year. Daisy’s artwork is listed in The SOTA Gallery in Witney, Oxfordshire, Park Gallery in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and online at Wychwood Art Gallery. Daisy is being represented by Park Gallery for Fresh Art Fair in April 2021 and her art features on the Artistic Impressions page of Conde Nast’s design and decoration magazine The World of Interiors September and October 2020 issues.
