Safe Space Painting

An expressionist, abstract and textured work of art. Think, contemporary and industrial, within a modern living environment and this describes much of todays interior design. Weathered, rustic, patinated and aged,  best describes the thought behind the process. It has been inspired by my travel through Europe, visiting rural locations and viewing old buildings of stone, concrete and brickwork from ancient architectural sites.  Intricate and mindful in its creation, I first used layers of gesso for texture, onto stretched cotton canvas and overlaying acrylic paint with selected tools and mediums enabling me to create and capture the beautiful patterns and colour of times gone by. I have combined the interaction of unity, depth, balance, light, colour and composition together in an harmonious way to evoke a sensation of presence, balance and calm within.  To paint without rules and boundaries allows new concepts of diversity and freedom of expression whilst creating unique and expressionist art for a contemporary setting whether at home, or within your work space.  The artwork has been painted on deep edge, stretched cotton canvas with sides painted dark to offset the artwork itself. It is ready for hanging with fixtures and fittings in place but if you prefer, can be framed in a style that suits your interior setting. This unique piece of art will have maximum impact on any wall surface creating a rugged modernist feel to your interior.
