Born December 15, 1956, in Matotoka near Magburaka the headquarter town of the Tonkolili District in the Northern province of Sierra Leone. I discovered my talents and love of art and pictures at an early age. I was fascinated by a big billboard with picture books. A big billboard with a family advertising Ovaltine fascinated me the most. On our way to market with my mum, I was so interested in the picture of the boy on the billboard with a cup in his hand. I told my mom to permit me to talk to the boy who always has a bright smile for me. My mum laughed and told me the people on the billboard were just images and they cannot talk. Also as I sat on the veranda of our house reading script from The Holy Quran I always pause to watch the clouds at a far distance. I perceived lots of images in the clouds. From September 1981-1987. I taught Visual Arts at Milton Comprehensive Secondary School (MILCOMSEC) in Bo town in the Southern Province of Sierra Leone. I left Bo in October 1977 to take up an appointment as Visual Arts lecturer and head of The Audio Visual Section of the Port Loko Teachers College (PLTC) in Port Loko Sierra Leone. In 1993 I traveled to The Gambia West Africa as a refugee. I taught Visual Art at the Institute of Continuing Education (ICE), SBEC International School, and later Ndows Comprehensive Secondary School. Presently I do graphics at my own studio Graphics Planet at Latrikunda Sabiji The Gambia West Africa, where I do printing and artwork. After all these long years of teaching, I have finally decided to drop the chalk and be strong and firm with BRUSH and PAINTING. To the Art world here comes a painter with a passion for the brush and wet paint.
