Angelica Longo is an award winning Graphic Designer and emerging Artist based in Perth. As a child she was exposed to a lot of travelling, photographs and the collection of visual imagery is what collectively inspires her, along with having lived in various parts of the world, such as Zimbabwe, Sicily, Italy and Sydney, which has given her a wide spectrum of cultures. Water is something that she loves therefore a lot of her work is based on seascapes or an abstract take on a seascape. Angelica also loves colour and is motivated by using different techniques constantly. Some of her work has a lot of texture which is expressed in a very unique way. Modern, contemporary art that is calming and sometimes vibrant, depending on colour and the chosen subject expressed. Coming up with a conceptual thought - idea and expressing it with a contemporary abstract medium is very rewarding for her. Angelica has a Bachelors in Art and Design, a Diploma in Graphic Design (won all 3 awards at completion) as well as a Fine Art Foundation Certificate. Favourite artists that influence her style and techniques are, Monet, Picasso as well as Helen Frankenthaler for many reasons, particularly the use of colour and style. Hokusai and Hiroshima for their simple yet memorable graphic forms. Julie Prichard for her contemporary abstract expressionism, which has influenced her of late.
