About The Artwork

The artist has a particular deep love of wildlife, especially wolves, wild horses and mammals of the sea. She has been working for decades fighting to reduce animal suffering, slaughter and exploitation. She has an article that was published called "Why Do We Hate the Original Dog." It speaks of the unnecessary torture and slaughter of the most majestic, misunderstood animal on the planet, the Timber Wolf. She herself had a wolf hybrid who passed in 2018 at the age of 14. He was her soul mate. This painting was created to immortalize Kaya, he is the wolf in the foreground. The artist has recently decided she is ready to sell the painting to someone who appreciates wolves as much as she does. The 3 prominent stars in the sky represent her beloved brother and her 2 other dogs who also passed. A % of the proceeds from the sale of her artwork is donated to various animal advocacy organizations, especially those who fight for the protections of wolves, a necessary predator in our eco system.

As a young child I won a gold medal for a drawing of a dog. My father and I used to draw together. I graduated from Montclair State University and did take some art classes there, however, that was not my major. I am mostly self taught. I began painting seriously in 2000 and in 2009 I was in a 4 state competition with thousands of aritsts in a museum. I won First Place in Painting oil/acrylics. The juror was the previous director of the Guggenheim so this was quite an honor!
