This seascape was chosen by me at the art masterclass as a practical lesson for the study of painting the sea. It was not my first attempion, I did the sea before, but it was about 4-6 days of work. At the international school of art "Art-Metier" were the master-class had place , they told me that no one had tried this picture to copy before, because the teacher considered it should be a few classes for that. I manage it for less than 4 hours, and it surprised me, because usually a work process on any of my paintings takes a much longe time. This study sketch turned out to be pleasant and easy, it also looks that way! The main idea that I understood it this lesson is that I need to be able to see the moment we're is time to stop - thanks to the professional teacher that catches the moment ask me to stop. For me it is difficult , because I am fascinated by the process and sometimes it hurts the result, so I often rewrite my artwork, but not this one- I lake it as it is.

Hello and welcome ! My name is Maks. l like art and my preference in paintings are vary from an abstraction to a romantic landscape. Here is my story about how life turned me towards art. My mother and a brother of my father are an artists. In my childhood I did study drawing for one year before to go to school. Often I liked to look a paintings reproduction by different artists in mom’s art books and albums. At age of 14years I like paintings of Van Gogh, and for the first time attempt to copy one of his work "Red Vineyards in Arles"- by that time I used gouache. During the school times a lot of things held my interes and I participating in different activitys; air rifle shooting, running and skiing, singing in boys choir, ballroom dancing, music school with piano and guitar classes , english language and partly work at agricultural institution - it was fun, aslo I was an editor of the classroom newspaper. In regional olympiad competition of drawing I got a second place. Then, during study at Polytechnical Institute sometime I did draw some scetch of nature and local architecture of nothern Finland. After university, was a long period of working in a lux hotels and restaurants as a manager, but then my life's interest turns back to the art. It’s happened in 2008 after visiting a big exhibition of one of my favorit russian landscape painter Arkhip Quindi (I go there three times during that month , with my mother and friends) . Each time I did open a new colors or a new detais in his paintings, and by that time somethings is chang in my mind and in perception. I start realized what I want to do is to work with a colors and then start to paint. Than was a luck- my first painting order one week after the start. By that time I haven't even got a materials and did' t know how to use it in oil technique, but my desire was new and there was no fear, so I agreed to make a copy of a paintings that my friend like very much on that exhibition. Than by phone my mother give me some hints and technical information what kind of material I have to buy for starting the oil paintings- so I did. My friend was happy when he saw my art work that I did for him. After that I start feel that it is time to do some copy of my favorite painting for mythelf , I loved 2 paintings by Quingi, but before can't think that it ever be possible . lately withing two years I did 5 different one.
