About The Artwork
The waves lure me by their lullaby I sink my feet in their caresses marvelling at the treasures the sea keeps churning out. I used a styrofoam panel as a support for textile collage from my embroideries, crocheted landscapes, and fabric landscapes that I combined into one big piece. The colours were too bright for my liking, and I decided to change them. I used plaster, cement, and pigments to slowly build my new colour preferences. It took more than a year to achieve this new palette. This treatment also stiffened the textiles, making them more sculptured than embroidered. The dimensionality of the artwork is quite playful, with the elements reaching out, and the background colours creating a lot of depth in this piece. The artwork's weight is about 4 pounds. Ready to hang.
