ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This work is a tribute to my favourite beach, 'Secret Beach' in Mallacoota, East Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. Many of you know that Mallacoota has been annihilated by the fires this season. I am deeply affected by the damage the fires have inflicted upon the flora and fauna of the East Coast of Australia and this is the first painting in the next series of 'tributes' to the animals and trees we have lost, some of them forever. Gallery quality premium (made to order) stretched canvas on a wooden stretcher, painted around the edges to compliment the artwork. The artwork is not framed. All my artworks are sealed and varnished with high quality semi gloss or satin varnish which protects the paint and vibrancy of the colours. Every care is taken to securely package the painting. It will be signed on the front and back and will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. Thank you for your interest! Sarah Morrow

I am a painter, using acrylic paints on stretched canvas. I paint with immediacy and fluidity allowing the emotions and memories to pour on to the canvas. I do not work from photographs or a master plan. The past ten years of painting has been a lot of passionate hard work combined with a powerful need to express what is important. The natural environment is what is important to me and that is reflected in nearly all of my work. I paint landscapes as hardy, practical places that provide healthy habitats for flora and fauna, not as a pleasant view for humans. My view is that the natural environment does not exist for exploitation on any level. I have a direct and immediate response to the destruction of the natural environment in the name of ‘progress’ and 'the economy'. I love what I do!
