My parents say I started drawing as soon as I could hold a crayon, starting out with the usual doodles and progressing to portraits at 10 years old. I grew up in a small town in Northern Denmark surrounded by beautiful nature and ocean, it was very easy to find inspiration to draw. I won many drawing contests and was inspired to try paints. I skipped a couple of years ahead in school and finished early at age 17 from college and started to travel, my first stop was Oxford, England, I was so inspired by the architecture and art there. I could have lived in the national museum in London, I couldn't get enough of the art there. I lived in Oxford about 6 months then headed to the US to travel around a bit and get inspired. Then I settled in Paris and Nice for about a year before coming back to the US again. France was what solidified art for me. After visiting the Louvre and the Picasso museum I was in love and decided to trade pencils for more colorful and fluid paint. I have never received any training in art, it is all self taught, I love to experiment with different mediums and different methods of applying paint. Lately my favorite is to paint large paintings with giant brushes and small paintings with palette knives. I love the unpredictability of the strokes as they are harder to control, its a mixture of freedom, love and luck. My goal is to draw people in and make them feel something: hate, love or inspiration doesn't really matter what as long as it invokes something in them, then my job is done. I have been lucky enough to get featured in a few magazines such as Huffington Post and the Acrylic Artist Magazine and Pratique des Arts. In 2016 I was honored to be featured by request at the Polition Art Exhibit in Los Angeles as well as in the TV series Criminal Minds. You can find much of my art in private collections in Canada, USA and Europe. I apologize this shop has been sitting idle for quite a while, I just moved back to Denmark after 28 years in California and New York, I promise to pick it up again and get creative, please have patience with me. I have also started illustrating for children. Having a little boy made me remember how much fun it is to draw for children. You can find my store for children on Etsy as well, it's called MontessoriArtAndTees. I also have an Etsy store called Dinosaurs and doodles, I haven't opened it yet, but wanted to mention it is in progress
